The Story of BlueNote: From Project to Method

Learning the piano is a dream shared by many. Yet, despite the abundance of online courses, traditional methods and apps, the majority of learners give up quickly.

Why? Because most approaches rely on rigid traditional learning frameworks.
Music is not just theory — it is above all a sensory and emotional experience.

The BlueNote method was born to shape creative and independent musicians.

Values

  • Sensitivity: listening and playing in an engaged way
  • Accessibility: removing barriers so everyone can progress
  • Creativity: expressing and using theoretical concepts in one’s own way

Vision

BlueNote aims to democratize piano learning by reconciling pleasure and pedagogy. Rather than training “technical” pianists, it seeks to shape sensitive, autonomous and curious musicians, capable of learning through listening, experimentation and play.

The BlueNote Project at HEIG-VD

The BlueNote project was born as part of the Digital Marketing course at HEIG-VD. The goal of this work is to gain independence and take a concrete first step in building a website with WordPress. The approach aims to put into practice the digital strategy concepts studied in class by developing a structured and creative personal project.

Thibault Moret, Swiss Media Engineer and Musician

I am Thibault Moret, a media engineering student and passionate musician. My background combines musical practice, production and pedagogical reflection. Having personally experienced the limitations of traditional methods, I wanted to share my alternative approach to music.

"Most people love music but stop learning the piano because traditional methods discourage them. They are too slow, too theoretical, too rigid. That is the problem BlueNote solves."
